I lost interest after the manual went away. Yet, here I am reading the article and commentating.

Exactly.  So much meh.  It does not look at all rugged nor classic like the old Defender.  Yet it also doesn’t look at all sporty or exciting like the new Range Rovers.  It just looks like a defender that’s been put in a rock tumbler.

It is a bit of an odd vehicle, and understandably a tough sell. To me, at this point it’s really just a name. I can easily understand how many people would rather get a Sequoia or Tahoe, and save a bunch of money. Or get a Range Rover which is more sporty / less truck like. Or get the Lexus for a better badge, and

I’m also curious what this would be like long term. The above video makes it sound like I couldn’t own an early Evora, but has quality improved for the later models?

So, when can I get one in the US with a manual, and a gasoline engine???

Simple, no manual means I won’t be buying it. Same reason why I don’t own an Alfa 4c. Looks I’ll be sticking with Porsche or maybe Aston Martin.  However, I bet it won’t take long for an aftermarket solution.

I think it’s lame they ever stopped having parts available.  I think legally, they need to have parts for 10 years after production ends?

I would be very happy if Brewers games were not allowed to start or finish during rush hour.

I still believe it’s best to upgrade our power generation plants to be cleaner before telling everyone to buy an electric car.

I wonder if Harley is one of the reasons the 2020 DNC will be in Milwaukee?

In Europe Harley’s are considered very high end and exclusive. The way we view Ferrari here.

I have a 5 and a 16/17

This looks like a limo even more so than the normal JT Gladiator. I don’t think those stripes are helping the appearance. The J6 has much better proportions.

It seems BMW has decided Buick is their biggest competitor. Can’t wait to get a 2 series with a bench seat and column mounted automatic.

My Dad had an 87 4Runner that was white with the grey stripes, looked just like that one (except with more rust).  Had about 200k on it when he sold it in 2001.

Looks like a Wagoneer 2000

The 1998 Chicago Auto Show was the best auto show I’ve ever been to. Big extravagant displays with cool concept cars. Not like today where they simply put a 2020 model on a turntable and call it good.

What do all these cars have in common?  They’re only available with an automatic.  Therefore they are all automatically off my shopping list.  Sad!

Wow, what color is that?

Pretty sure the Rav4 has MacPherson strut up front and multi link in the rear. I expect the new Defender to have trick differentials, air suspension, some sort of disconnecting sway bar, low range, elevated breather hoses, etc. Not to mention it’ll almost certainly be a longitudinal engine, not transverse.  Oh, and
