Being anti-nazi doesn’t mean you agree with Antifa, a group that if anything amplifies nazi messages by using violence.

What year though? In 2014 sure, in 2001, definitely wouldn’t have been middling.

I kept waiting for the sarcasm! A post about how fun sports can be! Thanks Luis!

Look, I don’t like the United and Real names either but I’m not going to police how people enjoy soccer in the US. We need more people into it not less.

God Deadspin’s MLS coverage is so annoying.

Also Ben Simmons.

At a certain point when do you guys stop complaining about VAR? Pretty much no one in the comments agrees with you.

That midpoint is too high. You can see it is level with the last name on the back of his jersey.  Admittedly that drops a bit low but still up by the shoulders.  Midpoint is nearer to the middle of the numbers on the back of his jersey.  So the graphic is pretty damn close.

And that’s where a commissioner comes in, and where Manfred so far hasn’t. Baseball (players, executives, media, et al.) has always had a cultural default about alternate ideas and behaviors by dismissively calling them “horseshit,” and then either walking away in contempt or responding to any further discussion on

Deadspin’s incessant complaining about VAR has become insufferable. Replay is in every single modern sport. Stop complaining.

“But without the big money that comes with a big national TV audience, they’ll never be able to afford the kind of players that will make the quality improve.”

“MLS has no monopoly on bad teams that find themselves woefully overmatched in a country’s top division. But at least those other leagues make their teams earn their admission ticket on the pitch rather than letting them buy their way in, and provide some much-needed pruning of the bullshit at the end of every season.”

Agreed.  To be the best in South Africa at the 400m to the 5000m is... wow.

So, with all that being said, wouldn’t it be far better to have 18 or 20 MLS teams that concentrate on QUALITY first? People want to watch GREAT players on GREAT teams above all else.

Sure. But owners only invested with the assurance that they wouldn’t be sent back down to the lower leagues.

The idea that pro/rel will make soccer “happen” in the US is ridiculous

Fire Billy Haisley

There are 16 NFL games per team. There are 162 baseball games in baseball. It is not comparable.

Ah yes, because those leagues never make rule changes. The KBO has universal DH and both leagues end in the 12th inning if the game is tied (15 if it is the playoffs). The NPB has regularly experimented with changing the ball to generate more offense.

This is so stupid.
