When my son was little, we’d take stale loafs of bread and head to the lake to feed the ducks. Maybe he was thinking along the same lines? Not the same product, but still.

When I was a waitress at Shari’s Restaurants many eons ago, every table received a small 8az glass of water upon sitting down. Every single one. I found this practice extremely wasteful, so I would ask if they wanted water along with whatever drinks they may order. Why can’t restaurants just do the same with bread? 

I do this when making casseroles with a bottom layer of dough like crescent or biscuit. I always find if I don’t, I have a bit of undercooked dough on the bottom. I blame my old oven.

I will shamelessly save a little extra batter (brownie, cake or otherwise) just so I can enjoy it all for myself. I can see throwing in some mini chocolate chips or rainbow sprinkles as well. This would also be a great way to use up any stale bread you have lying around.
