Totally, that film to me is the original uncanny valley example.  I remember first hearing of the term in all the think pieces when that film came out.

I highly recommend listening to the You’re Wrong About series on her book, it unexpectedly sucked me in. It’s a great snapshot of the late 90's early 00's. Also the Justin Timberlake stuff is just so gross, I never realized what a true terror he’s always been.

If I recall the comics correctly (it’s been a while since I read them), the TERFS were essentially the surviving wives of the republican elite.  In my opinion, that would totally track.
