!!!WORKED FOR ME!!!

@Confuzius: good reason to switch. i am hoping kwin will have a similar solution soon.

all they need is a 'make me feel like os x' option (i.e. common menu bar and dock, i know the menu bar is an option i know, but i can't find a qt4 dock) and i'd be happy. awesome as is though. 5-7 years and oss will be ready to have a real 'year of the desktop linux' (or bsd).

i think this will only work on hi-ways, and will need more redundancies, like the california P.A.T.H. program.

interesting, tonnes of people piggyback, and tonnes lock it up...i guess the same tonnes.

i hate facebook...damb friends and family insist i use it.

@acewave: that looks promising.

@armeck: good question. and how about doing it from outside my network out in the www?

fantastic

The "throttled" speeds I got were based on killing packets, not speed reduction. That's why it messed with my VoIP. I was slower than 1k (I got excited one time when I saw 800, until I realized it was 800 b). I consistently see with standard settings 500K + with Bell. Not that I am pushing them, like I said

It is on it's way to you if it hasn't happened yet. They have to install all the hardware. I asked about that too because a CoWorker had no issues. At least he didn't until a couple months after I switched to DSL, then he got the same problems...switched after they told him the same thing...now has no issues with

Rogers Cable in Canada packet filters. So bad in fact that I couldn't use VoIP and had to switch to Bell DSL. Now that is just bad tecnology to confuse headers from a BT packet with a VoIP packet. Their lame excuse was it is a government mandate...but no other ISP does it. btw, I do use it to d/l
