No, it’s definitely not a hardware issue. Ingress is essentially the same game without the Pokémon reskin, and I can play Ingress all day on my Nexus 5X. On the other hand, Pokémon GO drains my battery within a few hours and causes my phone to heat up like there’s no tomorrow.
