I don’t know; it is the only car that has lost weight and gained power in the last iteration - seems like engineering excellence...

I’ve had a 1991 Special Edition, a 1999 NB, and a 2004 Mazdaspeed. Autocrossed them, tracked them, dragged them(well, the ‘99 once I slapped a turbo in it) and daily drove them. Miss all three of these terrific little cars. When they announce the electrified version of the Miata, I will be first in line to buy one.

Exactly! I have a son who drives for a big outfit. They pay by the mile, have the trucks limited to 65 for safety, and pay nothing for the time the driver spends waiting for the customer to unload. He makes decent money, but works 12-14 hour days. During Covid, he was still doing OTR, and they couldn’t find places to

Articles that interview folks who say “people just don’t want to work any more” never bother tracking down the people that supposedly don’t want to work to get their side. It’s a bullshit narrative being parroted by media without any attempt at listening to the workers that are obviously wanting their side to be

This is the best answer so far. My wife and I were considering getting an ID4 but the controls for nearly everything, including climate control, are buried in the touch display which is buggy and slow as hell. Neither one of us could live with that everyday. The ID4's platform may be great but if they’re going to make

Left rear looks 1.5 psi off. Dealership used an Analog gauge.

It makes more money for the already subsidized corn producers. These farmers already get paid to overproduce, now they want to get paid more to pollute more, while shortening the life of all the vehicles using it.

Both the Senate and the presidential primary system are biased toward rural, farm oriented states, so their interests are always taken more seriously, and there isn’t a more farm oriented issue than ethanol. The blending rules are one of the worst scams and naked handouts this country forces on its citizens/taxpayers.

All ethanol for vehicle use is a mistake. It’s just so stupidly wasteful all around. But it makes money for some big corn producers, so here we are.

Andy, I am shocked you are a car reviewer and this is the first Mazda you have driven. What in the actual fuck. There oughta be a law you have driven a Miata or two to get a gig like this.

I’m almost all for this, but Mazda needs to buck up when it comes to MPGs. To debut this model before figuring out how to hybrid-ize the CX-5 in the NA market seems obtuse. I get that it’s on par or better than other luxe models in the same class, but they’re trying to win over Toyota/Honda/Hyundai buyers who feel

I have a CX-3, and my quibble is just to the right of the gas pedal. The plastic covering the tunnel isn’t really tacked in place down there, and it sticks out just enough to catch the edge of my shoe sometimes when I lift off the gas.

I have a CX-30, the distance isn’t the issue, it’s using a scroll wheel for Carplay until you get past the learning curve. Still, on the whole, I like not having a touch screen far better

Same regarding being underpowered. I held off on the CX-5 until they had added the optional turbo engine. Even then, I was tempted to go with the NA engine anyway for fuel economy until I saw that the CX-5 weighed more than my current car (at the time) and the NA engine had roughly the same HP. It would have been

We just can’t get away from the plastic fender shit can we?

If I understand correctly, the CX-50 is kinda off-roadish but doesn’t have skid plates and Mazda says that if you don’t really do any off-roading you’ll be fine? Makes sense!

I have never driven or owned one but may they have been making some pretty darn good looking cars the last 10 years or so.

What are we thinking about?

First you make me wear pants, and now they have to fit as well? That seems like more work than I want to put in.
