They are excellent books. The first one is one of the best sci-if books I’ve ever read

I read several of Willis’ books and just wasn’t impressed. Kinda surprised at the popularity

Did I miss something with Kendall’s kids? I didn’t follow the cracks Roman was making about them. Maybe I just can’t remember, but I didn’t understand that.

Oh man, so young. What a shame. First saw him in Fringe. Amazing actor.

I think she didn’t miss with the log. I think she was trying to set the room on fire on purpose. Easier to try to get away with the distraction.

I don’t daily my RF, but I drive it a lot on the summer. I just leave a ton of space and assume everyone is trying to kill me. And people absolutely do not see the car. Make sure to drive before you buy. The blind spot when you are looking out to the right side to change lanes is significant.

Watched these episodes, and while the “neato” futuristic 50s setting is interesting, feels like it’s just another show about folks getting conned.

people with strobe-effect aversions, be warned

Albert still does a column on cooking every two weeks over on Defector.

Sad to hear. I’ve read many of his books, always enjoyable.

At least three of the places by me occasionally close their lobby due to staffing. Wendy’s Taco Bell and McDonalds. And this is in Central NJ, one of the most densely populated parts of the country.

The Wendy’s by me is an ancient building , but the staff work their asses off, and even when the line is decent you get through pretty fast, and they don’t screw up orders either (I always ask for something to be left off). The CFA near me never has less than 30 cars in line during peak hours. They run three lanes,

Off topic but wow, we stayed at a place on the corner of Rambler for like every summer for about 5 years when I was a kid.

I am done with Taco Bell, because you never know what the hell they have on the menu. They discontinued the shredded chicken burrito which was my go to. Then they started having the crispy cantina tacos, which are good, but it’s impossible to know what they’re available. I literally got them on a Wednesday and on

Friendly’s used to be a reliable, cheap restaurant where you could get a decent burger and follow it up with a good sundae. They are just terrible now, and best avoided.

RIP Mike. My condolences to his family and co-workers. Such an entertaining writer, and for all accounts and amazing guy, gone too soon.

Saw my first Acura NSX this weekend. In that gorgeous blue, too. Amazing.

Well that’s one plus I guess.

Anyone still reading Turtledove? Curious if he’s lessened his habit of repetition.

My main issue is having to believe Margo was so stupid that she didn’t see the Soviets coming for her. I just don’t buy it. If they has like third in command or something, maybe, but not her.
