Sorry to see you go. That said, are any of the Giz blogs other than Jalopnik (I’m making an assumption here) doing well? They’ve managed to kill Deadspin, but not yet put it out of its misery with no worthwhile writers and no updates. They killed Splinter which was one of my go-to sites multiple times a day. The new

It’s things like this that have “forced” Ford and GM to cut back cars while the Japanese and Korean cars keep coming, despite the CUV craze. The American sedans keep coming out with new nameplates every 5-6 years only to cut them because they keep making crappy cars. Most aren’t bad, but when they are it’s awful and

If you’ll indulge me for a moment: after almost eight years, approximately 5 million Kinja posts and, thankfully, only one incarceration, today is my last day at Jalopnik.

I own a Fit and walk most days for the same reason as you.  If it wasn’t for our annual road trip, I’d put 2 or 3K miles on it a year.

Sorry to hear you are going. I hope the site doesn’t seem to go to hell in your abscence. I have seen a disturbingly higher amount rather anti-car or you are killing the planet type stuff rather than about the enjoyment of cars of all kinds. I wish you the best in all you are doing.

I currently have a 110 mile round trip commute 2-3 days a week. My workplace doesn’t have a charging station. If they do one day get them, a car like that would be awesome for me, and I’d be all in, unless I can save up more peanuts for a full electric.

This better not be a sign of the Jalopocalypse! Jalopnik is too important!!!

1st Gear: Nissan was always 2nd fiddle to Toyota, they should have just kept copycatting Toyota. Besides, their designs look like shit lately. Last good looking cars were the ‘91 Z and S14s.

Patrick, without your guidance, Jalopnik wouldn’t be where it is today. You can tell you ran this ship the right way, simply by reputation. Alanis and Elizabeth both spoke highly of you when I met them in Austin, and our mutual friend Ramon Ramirez (hook em) said you were always brilliant, going back to when you were

Patrick,

DAFUQ?

PG, thanks for keeping the ship right, pointed in the correct direction, and all of its occupants as safe as they could be. Also, thanks for keeping Opposite Lock around; I know it wouldn’t be here if it weren’t for you.

Whoa. I'm sorry to hear that you're leaving. Best of luck in your future endeavors!

Isn’t this what the Blazer is? A Camaro SUV?

So much for being grounded to the ground

Fair enough.

They almost did.

The funeral will be held at your local dealership this Friday. Please sign the Guest book and check out our Buick “December to Remember” sale on all Encore’s and Enclave’s.
