What does Justin Turner have to do with anything?
For me, at least, it feels a bit like a learned helplessness. I’m able-bodied and I’ve still had trouble with insurance - for example, my doctor’s office uses two labs. My insurance only covers one of the two, so when they sent my pap samples to the wrong one, I had to pay $300 out of pocket, even though pap exams are…
Nope, they are yours now.
Those Islanders also had Luongo, Olli Jokinen and Todd Bertuzzi. In other words, Mike Milbury was/is an idiot.
I agree that height played a large role in it but under the new rules that doesn’t matter. They have moved the onus on the player making the hit to ensure the primary point of contact isn’t the head. Obviously this can be tough for a player of Chara’s size, but a rule is a rule.
the Fiero was made for the average joe and to keep them warm during the winters.
I’ll give them that. I’m a Devils fan who grew up hating the successful Al Arbour-coached teams of the 80s but I really wish the Isles well this season. It’s good to see them playing well.
Instead of bitching at a player who gave everything to a team and was given little to no help, how about giving it to the management for not getting a top level player to play on his wing. Or behind him on defence. or further behind him in goal.
Such sad news, I’m a little heartbroken. I remember buying their first single “Today” like it was yesterday, and following their music back then was such a journey, from synth pop to... well, I’m not sure there’s even a word to describe their later albums, other than art. RIP and thank you for some of the best music…
The trajectory of the Colour of Spring through Hollis’s solo album is unbelievable. And I have to stress how different the self-titled solo album is from the early synth-pop—it’s so interested in empty, open spaces and stark arrangements. It’s a sometimes difficult, genuinely beautiful work.
ugh, this is heartbreaking. one of the most subtle and finely tuned singer and song writer of our time. just take a couple of minutes and listen to ‘new grass’ in a quiet room and you’ll get a sense of what he really was about.
Right? Better than I thought it would be. Gilbert, Perez, and Wolford look better than the bottom 1/3 of current NFL quarterbacks.
It’s funny to see Mike Singletary, who actively wore a Ned Flanders sized piece of the true cross when he coached the 49ers, be so anti-Christian.
Of course. Same management.
I’m watching. I care.
jeff, this sounds like an awful lot of work. can i just come over for dinner?
