Actually its been 10 or more years since you could get away with that and be competitive in the points. Now you are only allowed to oil down the track twice in a season (IIRC) before NHRA starts deducting points from your season total.

Just to set the record straight the NHRA Female Championship holders are: Shirley Muldowney (3 in Top Fuel), Angelle Sampay (3 in Pro Stock Motorcycle), and Erica Enders-Stevens (2 in Pro Stock). Erica passed Muldowney with 19 National Event wins in 2015.
