I can’t believe they made an episode about the song from Monkey Island 3.

Yeah, nah, this is really dumb. There’s two options here:

“Naturally renewed for a second season.” Doesn’t it seem kind of weird to have an actually completely different story in this series? The Terror s1 was a completely isolated (in every way) story, why is this even called “The Terror”?

“And the money shark now has legs!” Screw Jaws, was this episode not more of a Gyo reference?

Magica doesn’t have an Italian accent. Boo.

Honestly, the setup and the cast just look too fun to resist this, even if it’s something we’ve really seen before.

I just noticed Fares Fares is on the show (he’s the tech guy on Hale’s team), and he’s credited as main cast in the opening. He’s an amazing actor, but hasn’t done *anything*. What’s up with that?

I was thinking it was a manifestation of Melanie’s, not David’s. The minotaur was the guardian of her labyrinth.

It’s a minor thing, perhaps, but I love how well acquainted we’ve become with the entire facility at this point. The restaurant with the river of food, the round corridor with the arrows on the walls, the beehive walls on the bedrooms - it feels like a filled out, real place, and they’ve used every location in a huge

I have never hated a tin can company as much as this.

Sure is fun completely missing the point of what “essay” means for eight minutes. You guys write reviews, you know there’s a burden on the reader too to not take everything as pure authoritarian truth, but as well-informed opinion pieces. Because that IS what an essay is, more likely than not.

Kind of weird to write two of such long, unnecessarily snide comments after missing Zack’s point completely: he even says exactly what you’re saying in so many words, but the point is that with the changes the TV series makes as an adaptation, the impact of characters dying unceremoniously changes, too. It doesn’t

Poor Hal.

“The devil was probably just some guy named “Lucifer” who beat up kids for their lunchables, and then a few hundreds years.... heh.”

Damn, that was it for Nathan Fillion? He was great, but taken too soon.

The production design in this series is something else, as well as the costuming. I love the changing clothes the main cast gets to fit the theme of the place.

Nathan Fillion! In the ultimate Nathan Fillion role.

He was flustered because he muddled the “You look good” (..as Violet) as opposed to “You look good” in general. It wasn’t being flustered at her looking like Violet, it was him being flustered about not wanting to imply she didn’t look good otherwise.

Yeah, it’s a trailer for a Kickstarter.

Yeah, I was coming here to call that out, too. A huge part of the current AV Club is sponsored content, and yet.. “you probably share our general cynicism for promotional nonsense”? Actually, I do! But you do not. The Spike Jonze ad thing might just have been a bad headline, but it’s not like there aren’t a bunch of
