This is in regards to the 2008 set of rules I believe. I think they upped the penalties again in 2017. Got to wait for 2018 numbers to see if those made more of an impact.

Well... technically higher penalties, jail time, impounding cars do work to deter street racing. In Ontario, Canada they can actually cube your car if you are caught street racing. It has shown to be more effective than promoting track racing (which the Ontario police actually officially condone).

Ya but “big” numbers is relative to what you are used to seeing. In Vanilla, when we saw a mage crit a warrior for 7k damage we freaked the fuck out... I came back to WoW in Cataclysm and fucking crits were like 250k or something, totally found that ridiculous.
