Gravity. It looks like when the motor stopped the braking mechanism failed. Imagine all the weight on the full side of the cable compared to the empty side. Not unlike a runaway car or truck with no brakes.

This movie has a little insight on the issue:

When I was a kid I had nice clothes, school clothes and play clothes. It’s pretty much the same now, just the labels are different. You don’t work on the car in the same clothes you wear to the office or to a wedding. Duh.

Have you ever been to Tokyo or London or any other Metro area where the public transit system is not horribly underfunded? I just returned from two weeks in Japan. It was truly sublime. And I am as big a car enthusiast as anyone. Which is why I love a great rail system. Let those who don’t care take the subway so that

I grew up watching the greats like Senna, Prost, Schumacher, etc. Rally drivers are a whole different breed. They aren’t driving the same lap over and over. Nor do they have the luxury of knowing where their opponent is or being able to back off a little if they find themselves in the lead. Rally drivers are flat

Great video. Modern day WRC is as good as Rally has ever been. Different, yes. But still just as good.

Crack Pipe. I’d rather have my Outback.

My two boys and I love-love-love watching MotoGP. I still watch F1 as well, but mostly out of habit. Our other favorite series is WRC.

The article states that Panasonic “jointly operates a Gigafactory in Sparks, Nevada, with Tesla.” Nowhere does it state that Panasonic is operating it by themselves. I have been involved with and seen how the battery packs are produced. Panasonic produces the cells. Tesla produces the modules and packs.

Panasonic’s IP is with the battery cells only. Packaging the cells into modules and modules into a complete battery pack is on Tesla and only Tesla.

Not only is it unpredictable, it’s f#cking dangerous. As a bicycle commuter, I’ve had people slow down and be “polite” by trying to wave me through an intersection when it wasn’t my turn. Meanwhile, traffic is backing up behind them and people are getting impatient and actually pulling around the “polite” person. I

The 150 pound load rating is for dynamic loads. Accelerating, braking, cornering, high cross winds, etc. If the car is sitting still in a camping spot, the rack can support much higher loads.

That Cool Gray Khaki is an almost perfect base color for a Gulf paint scheme.

It’s required if you want to drive it. If you’re going to put it on display or just store it in some warehouse, then yes, it’s optional.

Boy, you said it. I’ve went to several F1 races in the V10 era. So exciting. Turbo V6, eh, not so much.

Not with only six cylinders. That pitch comes from having ten cylinders firing at close to 20,000 rpm. It’s about 3000 Hz. To get a similar sound using only six cylinders they would have to spin at over 30,000 rpm. Not happening anytime soon.

ST: TNG debuted when I was in High School. As a huge Sci-Fi, Astronomy and Engineering nerd, I loved it. It still remains the only TV series that I have watched all the way through to the end and enjoyed it that much the entire time. I have watched many other series, but they all fell apart or were far less

It looks like this model is very close to minifig scale (1:48). That’s pretty cool. My boys and I would have fun with this one. Now if they would only release other Star Wars sets such as the Death Star or Star Destroyer...

The 2018 redesign is supposed to be an improvement. It could still use more power, though. Still on my short list, however.

Don’t forget the drum brakes. That’s right, in 2017 you can spend $40K on a truck that comes with drum fucking brakes.
