I am genuinely glad it has its fans, and I really want these guys to succeed, as nothing can detract from how good (most of) Spaced was. Shaun kept the laughs, drama and the genre-nods perfectly balanced (although Hot Fuzz didn't work for me).  I'm aware of the context-based and subjective nature of cinema going (a

Pandering to mainstream audiences and money-men (I don't mean pandering to the reference-spotters). And the result is a very long way from Spaced.  I understand wanting to expand the audience, but the result is just not funny and the 2nd half is one long fight scene. A lot of cringing went on in our group.

for those that loved Spaced - this film shits on its legacy.  A forced, laugh free, obvious and pandering film, full of dad jokes, with none of the comic timing or quality of writing of Spaced or Shaun. The whole auditorium was in bored silence.  This isn't what you want.
