Funny thing is; all the while oil prices were at $140/barrel, the economy was in the dumps. Suddenly, oil is bottoming-out and the economists are saying this is a bad thing. I read that as the people with money will always make money.

I rest my case...
Oh, I'm here. I just don't have so much free time. Business is good, and we are all well. Every time I read about the new Ford GT, I think of you. Have a great Christmas and New Year! I'll be watching for you...
Agreed. I also think that 4-WD is a costly evil. I looked up 2-WD Wranglers and failed to find anything. I know they made them briefly, I believe under Daimler, but I think they didn't sell well.
Exactly. Why the hell would they have removable tops and doors, otherwise?
I am inches from my next car- a Wrangler Unlimited. While many publications claim the Wrangler keeps its value more than most (if not all) cars on the market. Of course, Consumer Reports recently claimed it to be one of the worst values. Gone are the days of bare bones CJ's and I wish they'd come back with a retro…
Gross!
Jeep needs to build something like this for foreign markets, then allow it to be imported. Bare bones, and tough as nails.
The shame of it is, there is a lot of credibility in having race sponsorship. Winning is everything. I understand the constraints of small budget manufacturers, but racing programs lend credence to an automaker's claims of being the best at something. With Volvo, I see this.
On that note, why not go one further than Pontiac's "Excitement" with: Dodge...Excitability.
I see a couple of things in his future, all of which depend on his own actions. Should he go back- a suspended sentence, so he can provide for his family. But, then, a lucrative contract with some race team.
I'm with you! Older and relatively close in income and I don't want to spend $30,000 on a new Wrangler. Very little debt, aside from mortgage, and any credit purchases are paid off the next month. All I see are young people driving BMW's that HAVE to stretch their monthly budgets (IF they even have one) to the…
Not that there's anything polished about a CJ or Wrangler; this thing is hideous. Even the VW Thing is attractive next to it!
They should show it fording a stream of hose water on a steep driveway!
We owned a '96, which is a far cry from the original. As much as I liked the idea of the minivan, I was not taken with the original design.
Blizzard of "77. That's all you have to google. We missed two solid weeks of school, which is very unusual for Buffalo. Again, lake effect snow, but it was in January/February. It stayed around for a long time. We actually missed mass that first weekend, which, if you know my folks, was VERY unusual.
I've wondered that, myself, although I do like this version.
I survived the Blizzard of "77. Google it.
The problem with expanding the passenger space goes beyond engineering the structural integrity. It goes to passenger comfort, as well. Think about the way a plane tilts in a turn. The center-most seats essentially tip on an axis. Push those seats out on the wing and the passenger can rise or drop several feet, in…
What is the tradeoff, though? These 84 month loans just allow poorer people to "afford" nicer things, at the expense of being upside down for years. Once the car is finally paid for, the owner has grown tired of it, or has to deal with high mileage and wear-and-tear repairs, possibly even before the payments are up.…
