I never thought of it as a political ad, but thought the Obama administration might try to make it that way. I can't see Eastwood making a case for either party anyway, but I thought the commercial was inspiring and honest, as Eastwood comes across. Matt Lauer didn't even know it was a Chrysler ad, but thought it

Marchionne made a comment along those lines, that they had depended more on money from financing than on manufacturing cars. He mentioned brand loyalty as a defining factor in keeping customers with less emphasis on the best deal.

Maybe not, if he believes in what they accomplished. And if you believe the reports he donated the money to charity. Stupid people have destroyed companies that didn't deserve that from their "leadership." Happily, for me anyway, this one survived.

Nicely said. And I own 3 Chryslers and a Toyota with no apologies.

As much as I believe in the capitalist system, it's difficult for me to believe they (GM and especially Chrysler) would have survived after years of neglect, without the loans. And, they were loans, having already been paid back by Chryco. Both Chrysler and GM were afraid, with good reason, the effect of declaring

I would say, by divine intervention, the car was in a parking lot.

How about a flash/strobe, that mimics a picture being taken. It works for other things. Kinda like a speed trap or intersection camera.

Ever drive on the highway and see the old lady, or inexperienced person driving all crouched over the steering wheel, gripping it as if it would fall off, otherwise?

I think it was 15 seconds long. I saw this and others prior to the game online, so I remembered it when it was broadcast. Blink, and you missed it. It was fairly forgettable to begin with.

For the record, I didn't think Madonna was hot back in 1984, when she squirmed on the floor singing "Like A Virgin," which was a terrible song.

Didn't some hot shot American quarterback win the Grey Cup? Maybe Doug Flutie? Now I hafta look.

I love this idea. You can use it to keep people at bay when you are driving distracted. Or, when they are driving distracted. How often do you see a guy with his blinker on for miles? You're stuck behind him, so you put on your "hey idiot" light to get his attention. That guy reading on the expressway; flash him

Actually, it was brilliant, despite your trolling. And when he gets in your face at the end, he looks like he's going to punch you in the face. Which is what I'd like him to do...punch you in the face.

I don't get it. I can access this commercial from numerous sites, four of which I can name, but only two that are car-related. Again with the NFL bullshit.

This has bugged me for years. Say all you want about diluted brands due to brand-engineering, but the fact remains; they really are the same vehicles, despite the icon on the hood. I keep reading about how the Odyssey is outselling the Town & Country or Grand Caravan. The truth is; the combine T&C and Caravan blows

Twinkies and cockroaches. Kind of an inside joke.

I did. And after it got wrecked, I bought another. And yes, it has a HEMI.

I just watched it on Allpar and Leftlanenews, only to see if it would play. Autoblog's is also shut down. It's bullshit. The NFL has become a monopoly and needs to be dealt with. The game was good, but not great. The commercials were pretty good, but obviously not affiliated with the NFL. Makes no sense.

NP for some I know. I've driven the Beetle and was surprised at its ease of shifting. I am self-taught on a stick, in a Beetle. What I don't like is its lack of cupholders and armrests.

Yeah, you know you're in trouble when BOTH hands are on your shoulders as he probes!
