Hope you make make the seats tartan.

That’s completely stupid.

Oh, and it’ll definitely be a cloth-leather combo. Cloth for the seat surfaces, door bottoms, and headliner. Leather for the seat surrounds, dash, center console, and door tops.

From what I’ve heard/read over in Europe, these new eHEV Hondas are simply fantastic. I’d definitely consider the hatchback for under $30k

I’ll be more excited if the hatchback actually has increased useable cargo space and rear seat headroom instead of just being a fastback with a liftgate.

No mention of the titanium key for the Z32 300ZX?!?

That Hyundai key looks like an MP3 player from 2003

When I was a kid I was fascinated with the crystal key that Chrysler used for a couple of years. I think it reminded me of the fortress of solitude crystal stuff from the first Superman movie.

Only disagreement on this list is the “the ice blue buttons look very premium when paired with the brushed aluminum-look” part. It definitely has the “futuristic Y2K-era electronics” look. Hell I think I had a stereo in that color scheme.

You mean you don’t love a key design that was foisted off on some of the cheapest DaimlerChrysler era stuff?

For the most disappointing key:

The irritating thing about the Tesla key setup is that when you rent one, they give you the card-style key, which you have to physically touch against the door of the car to unlock and lock, and then place in a particular spot inside the car to get it to move.

I actually know someone who lost one of those Chiron keys down the back of their sofa. It was cheaper to rip the sofa apart than replace the key! (It will not surprise anyone if I mention that  he is a motoring journalist)

The BMW diamond key was a pretty elegant design. Not only did it retain a fairly normal size and shape, the buttons were well integrated and the key battery was charged wirelessly when inserted into the ignition.

Porsche (and maybe other manufacturers) were doing the car-shaped key well before Tesla.

Wow can’t believe this list didnt mention one of the best weird car keys of all time, the credit card key that Mercedes and Mazda used to be put in your wallet

No mention of the Rivian “keys”?

I know that. Jebus. I was just saying I enjoy how the language changes.

While it was by no means fancy, the 1st gen Dodge Neon had a glow-in-the-dark key, which was kind of neat and original. I owned one, and believe me when I tell you it was the only remarkable thing about it.

So few are actually keys. I love how language changes over time.
