Via the Rabin's mouth

Boy it would be great if there were a column that analyzed Flops, maybe a world of them?

The same reason they just canceled My World of Flops. Low-effort easily shareable on facebook posts are what the people want.

It's an agency that is responsible for 85% of all twee and rando ads that have graced the nation for the past decade.

God bless Rabin. When I read this line in his blog:
"I’m in the process of writing my sixth book, a meditation on the video game and movie Postal and our uncertain times that I’m cowriting with Brock Wilbur."

Good old Wieden Kennedy. More stupid hipster shit.

I like to think there's a Berenstein Bears style universe where The Dissolve singlehandedly redefined online criticism and all the staffers got pulitzers for criticism. We're stuck in the Berenstain, AVclub, Trump universe but there's a better place out there, somewhere.

I'm hoping he'll get a solid patreon following that subsidizes him into a slightly better website. I'll definitely contribute, I've been reading him for nearly twenty years. I can't imagine a universe where Nathan Rabin ends up as like a Lyft driver or something while the flops keep piling up.

It's times like these you realize that you are substantially in the minority. People want quick takes and newswires and GJI.

In some other damned news they canceled "My World of Flops" due to lack of clicks!

Reading "Shattered" has been a terrifying experience. So many "might have been" moments when everything might have been alright. Just an unbearable amount of tension, especially when the ending is already known

Yeah, Mike Dash is great. I really recommend any of his books as well

Someday they'll make a hell of a movie about Ailes and Fox

My favorite article on Bog Bodies:

I've always got a soft spot for the guy. Red Son, Big Dave and The Authority were enough for him to get a lifetime pass in my book. Whenever he has missteps (Kick Ass 2 for example) I give him the benefit of the doubt.

I would absolutely love to see a modern collaboration between the two of them. Their respective voices have evolved so much since those 2000 AD and The Authority days. I think it would either be an exceptional gestalt thing where the whole is greater than the sum of its parts or an absolute naval-gazing, fascist

My mom says 40 is the new 20

Yeah, those old Captain Britain Daredevils U.K. issues are so damn good and so unread. They did just an exceptional job of laying out the themes Moore'd return to again and again. I guess the licensing issues kept them out of print for a long time but they are available. I've also been told there are some torrents

Yeah, the original version of "Wanted" is a much better example of Millar's proto-fascist leanings. Hell I was recently rereading him and Grant Morrison' classic old "Big Dave" pieces from 2000 AD and was struck by how much of Millar's standbys are on full display.
