Glad this was pulled after 9-11, but man seeing him webswing in costume for the first time gave me goosebumps.

Back in 2001, I was but a young, nerdy Spider-man comic book reading and collecting movie theater worker. I nearly lost my shit when the first Spider-man teaser came in a package to work, and we immediately attached it to Jurassic Park 3 (I think) and nearly died waiting the whole 20 minutes or so until the next…
Wow, no one’s mentioned Tron: Legacy yet?
If you’re gonna go with a modern Star Wars trailer, surely it has to be the Rogue One teaser with the sirens. The film didn’t quite deliver on its promise, but that was a trailer that really excited with new possibilities for where the series could go, whereas The Force Awakens was only ever interested in re-treading…
The Matrix. It was so mysterious. Looked like an action movie, but the bullet time was still intriguing at the time. It didn’t mention anything about the world as a simulation. Then Morpheus’ voice over at the end, “Unfortunately, no one can be told what the Matrix is. You have to see it for yourself.”
How is it that Halle Berry and Thandie Newton both seem tougher and more beautiful now than when they first broke through? Hollywood never knew quite how to sell them, imo, but maturity has made them more, not less, interesting. I wouldn’t mind, for example, seeing Berry as an older Catwoman (in a much better movie).
I just watched Death Proof again last night and Zoe Bell is out of her fucking mind.
And Debbie had better make it to the end (Chicken Debbie, not Coke Debbie).
Remember when Marvel took a chance on an actor shaking off some heavy personal demons and had him play a character that didn’t have a heck of a lot of name recognition outside of comic book fans? And then they made a throwaway joke at the end with Sam Jackson talking about “The Avengers Initiative.” That was pretty…
There’s one shot where it looks like she’s spoofing Roseanne, so, hell, she might spoof Full House, too.
I suppose, rationally, I knew the Looking Glass mask had to be CGI. But it was so flawless. Curious now about shots where it was half-raised.
She probably doesn’t an accent because she’s a super-trained spy. Can’t have your covert agents sound like they’re chasing Moose and Squirrel; kind of a give-away.
I can’t help feeling like it should be the other way around...
Watched the movie Wing Commander in order to see the latest Phantom Menace trailer? I had no knowledge of WC going in except that it was a video (computer?) game but I am a sci-fi fan, so I thought, what the hell, I’ll watch the movie. It was not good. I’m sure there were worse movies I’d seen in order to see a…
It’s interesting how Splinter just glossed over the corruption that looks to be rampant in the UAW. Their current and former president’s homes were just raided, six executives are facing or in prison, and RICO statutes and receivership are being seriously discussed. Rank and file aren’t sure where leadership really…
Jesus Christ, we have switchblade lightsabers now...
Just when we thought they couldn’t make light sabers look any stupider...
As a liberal, I’m kind of amused at the idea of somebody being hunted by “liberal elites”, since my idea of “The Most Dangerous Game” is to read The Most Dangerous Game and work through an analysis of it’s themes with a group of students.
EHEM>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Man, I can’t wait to see all these new characters I fall in love with become victims of almost total genocide.
