It's pretty clear that Ward shot the cops in the legs. Also clear that he consciously chose to shoot them in the legs. As opposed to his "SHIELD kills" which were always in the head.

Deep in me, I want to see them do Samurai ala The Tick. (Remember that? I still revisit the comic books every so often but I think it was on TV too.)

I think the "spotlights modified to shoot gamma rays" was the perfect setup. It made the el-cheapo effects actually fun. And the snide comment about Bruce Banner was a nice plus.

The whole Garrett "Hail Hydra" thing is just so fun. I mean I though SHIELD was cool. But an organization that has infiltrated SHIELD over past 70 years? Even cooler! And Garrett makes it look so fun!
