Captain America: The Winter Soldier is a pretty flawless movie, and is arguably still the finest film the Marvel Cinematic Universe has brought.

NBC has reportedly ordered La Brea—the show about a family sucked into “an unexplainable primeval world” through a sinkhole—to series.

I’m not so sure. I think those who are identified as having been inside the capitol will be charged first. Not too hard to identify them either when there are so many selfies floating around. First up.... Viking guy... followed by guy sitting in Pence’s seat, guy with his feet up on Pelosi’s desk, guy who stole…
If I never see Kylo or Rey again in any format or venue it’ll be too soon.
I agree, the most detailed account of Fisher’s allegations I’ve seen is “asshole management and racism” but nothing specific I can use to make an informed opinion. Maybe he can’t provide details but I wish he’d hire someone to help him communicate better. I’d hate for his allegations to be true but WB skates because…
Are they credible and supported? I’m not convinced that’s really true.
It’s the best movie about an egg sandwich that I can think of.
Wonder Woman 1984 is unique in that it’s a standalone film without the burden of all the other DCEU films weighing it down, and yet it still manages to be a muddied, difficult to understand mess.
Oh, agreed. That’s part of the tragedy for me. Diana genuinely likes Barbara and sees her as a friend, but when Diana has her world-ending scenario to sort out she turns into a pretty crappy friend to Barbara, at least from her perspective.
Connie Nielsen’s a much better actress. (There, I said it.)
Pedro Pascal has more screen time in this movie than Gal Gadot, and I was surprised to learn that I'm not disappointed.
I like Lynda Carter and the cameo was beautifully concieved, but I don’t think she could have pulled off playing Hippolyta nearly as well as Connie Nielsen did in the previous movie. The fan service of a casting like that would wear off pretty quickly. In the end, a cameo like the one we got works out better for…
. . . what was up with Asteria’s voice?
I’ve been back-and-forth on this take on Max in general. You could argue, fairly, that Pascal’s character didn’t need the name “Maxwell Lord” to deliver this particular story. It’s possible that given how his arc played out, that he could mature into being the likeable corporate rogue from the Justice League…
I thought Wiig did well overall, but the story did seem to have one misstep for her: While Diana’s the one who explains that Barbara lost her warmth and such, there didn’t seem to be anything more tangible lost for Barbara as she went through her metamorphoses.
You realize how WW84 was a commentary about Trump and how Trump now has all the power. He gets what he wants and no one stops him. He’s ruining the world. Then Wonder Woman’s speech on how what matters most is the truth. This is a response to Trump’s alternate reality and use of the phrase, fake news.
I’d rather they took time off from the “Haunting of” concept and came back with something really good when they have an inspiration, rather than feel obligated to turn in mediocre work.
I’ve always thought the shipping of Frodo and Sam was kinda problematic in an odd way, and promotes the idea that men can’t have really close, affectionate relationships with one another, without them being homosexuals. There’s literally nothing in the books or films to indicate that their relationship is anything but…
“A just okay script” is super generous in my mind, which I assume means you must be a very nice person. I thought that script was a dumpster fire. Rerunning the hammy Gene Hackmanesque real estate scheme in a movie that otherwise seemed to want operate on a really quiet, intellectual level was not a great move.
