If only we could find a way to bottle and sell Chris Evans deligtfulness.  He seems like a genuinely good guy.

YES! I’m up for some more genuinely adult, non-CGI, make-you-think kinda films. Even though there were gross parts, I can forgive those for the great characters and well crafted story.

That would be a GREAT idea to have a “Blanc-World” set of movies. Knives Out was a lot of fun.

I hope they keep Blanc as a supporting character, and don’t try to make him the main character with some kind of capital-B Backstory. 

Definitely would go to it....Knives Out was a real nice twist on the old whodunit and I loved the cast. Every one of them seemed to just relish playing their characters - who I firmly believe walk around the world today.

I remember seeing reruns as a kid, but I’m also too young. I think that it was inspirational to women in addition to being super male gazey. Women wanted to be the characters in the show. They were stylish, independent, bad ass ladies... as well as also fulfilling the sexy requirement.

The marketing for this movie sucked. The promos were all the same: overstuffed with characters, a lot of dialogue that doesn’t mean anything (and difficult to hear in the first trailer), incomprehensible plot, no significant set-pieces teased. There was nothing to grab you and make you think this movie could compete…

Plus, Bowen Yang is out and Harry Styles is a vocal, seemingly very sincere advocate for LGBTQ visibility. This isn’t where gay bashing is going to come from (plus, you’re right: the joke was that it was explicit, had typos, etc., not that it was gay).

gay-bashing? it was so unequivocally gay, with 2 (or 3, we don’t know her life) queer characters! the joke was never that he was gay! i found it was great representation for us depressed queers who are way too much online

It was a good episode! “That’s the Game” was my favorite, but it was chock full of goodness. 

I liked this show enough during the first 4 episodes but episode 5, Pedretti’s performance in particular, made me love this show. Poor Nell indeed. 

So, are these reviews essentially recaps with some light criticism thrown in? I’m surprised that there’s no mention of Victoria Pedretti’s gobsmacking performance as Nell, which has to rank among the best I’ve seen on television. Unfailingly genuine, inventive, and expressive stuff, which sells every second of it.

This episode - especially the last few minutes - purely did me in, y’all. Emotionally, I mean. Just — stick a fork in me, I’m done. This fucking house! Poor Nellie.
