Shows tend to overstay their welcome. This burned brightly and extinguished. I watched a marathon on a cable network when I was in my 30s, so obviously not the target but man did it grab me and get me. some if it feels so real that its hard to watch, like you’re eves-dropping and shouldn’t be there.

Over the past few years the quality of the stores have gone down hill - dirty displays, rude staff, not the same as before the sale. Lots of gray market product that I’d be concerned about using too. If it was the founders I’d feel bad, but whoever bought it didn’t respect what they built.

Telling people they can’t go into their homes and asking them nicely if they wouldn’t mind waiting while they film is two different things. I’ve never been asked remotely nicely.

good for you - the PAs like to make you think that you have to stop for them - but you don’t. I used to work on a block that was used for filming all the time. I would always stop because I sure as hell didn’t want to get back to work too quickly. But if it was anywhere I wanted to really go I’d keep walking.

If you read interviews, SMG is known for really going for it. The scene from the Prom where she tells Willow Angel is leaving town and she says ‘I feel like I can’t breath, Will’ feels so real. (and yes I cry at that every time.)

I agree with you on it being the best show ever (anyone can fight me on that). Between 1998 and 2005 I moved a lot - and my ritual during unpacking was to unpack my VCR (later DVD) and just let all the episodes play from the beginning to bring good Buffy energy into the apartment (yes its totally nuts).

In a few ways yes - they learned a lot and worked out a lot of storytelling kinks after 3 years of Buffy. The arc with Darla’s return, ‘death’, resurrection and death AGAIN was spectacular.

Passion of the Nerd’s videos are AMAZING. The one he did for ‘Lie to Me’ that goes into philosophy and choice etc. is fantastic. You have a choice. You don’t have a good choice; but you have a choice.
