The only real downside to crowd-funding is when the artist/band that gets funded doesn't come through on their side of the deal. That at least is certainly insulting to the fans. But done right, crowdfunding is a really powerful tool.

Crowd-funding an album is really just asking people to pre-order the album and then using that money to actually make it. It's not that complicated, nor is it that insulting.
Yeah guys. How dare you criticize Kanye, HE GAVE YOU HIS LIFE! HE DIED FOR YOUR SINS!
Am I the only person who thought his acting on Veronica Mars was pretty dreadful?
I didn't know you could do this. Thank you good sir.
I have a hard time accepting Tom Cruise as a protagonist because he (as an actor) always seems like a shrimpy, weaselly kind of dude to me. Which is one reason this movie was so perfect, because they cast him as exactly that: a shrimpy, weaselly, oilly kind of dude. So watching him slowly grow up and stop being a…
That's fair, but I don't agree that Marcus Mumford doesn't have anything to say. There's a lot of passion and apparent personal pain in his lyrics, I just think the homogeneity of the music itself makes it seem like he isn't saying anything.
Alright, I hate to come out like this in public but I feel like I have to:
It's a hell of a lot easier than writing lyrics.
Just started The Drawing of the Three by Stephen King (only a few decades late to the Dark Tower party).
One day I would love to see Jake Gyllenhaal actually get some recognition for being a phenomenal actor. I thought for sure he would get a Best Actor nod for Nightcrawler.
Does anybody truly look up to 2 Chainz?
I'm ashamed to admit I haven't opened this game yet, even though I backed it when it was on Kickstarter. I guess I know what I'm doing tonight.
I was genuinely surprised that it isn't.
In fairness to Taken 2, it does have the worst car-chase scene in any movie.
I didn't think to try the no-flag method until long after I was used to flagging. So it's hard for me to switch now, although it's clearly faster.
My fastest time clearing the Expert level Minesweeper is 104 seconds, which comes out to just over 1 second per mine (99 mines).
One other word, the Neeson A-Team is "underrated" as you put it because it's genuinely awful in just about every sense. It isn't even bad enough to be comically good.
I didn't dislike The Grey because of the lack of wolf-punching, I disliked it because of the absurd plotting and the heavy-handed nature of the writing. I don't mind if a movie tries to be about Big Things, but the story needs to make sense and this one doesn't. The characters are repeatedly written into absurd…
And how could I forget Cormac McCarthy. That may be the hardest for me.
