To have it both ways, a standing desk with a tall stool would work. I used to do drafting before CAD was popular and our tables were tall enough that you could sit or stand, though we usually sat.

@hudey123: In my home theatre, I have a 50" Panasonic plasma that is connected to my MacMini HTPC. In that sense, it serves as a monitor and I've used it very much like one. I kick back on the couch with a BT keyboard and RH mouse. Works like a charm for light duty surfing and IPTV stuff, but I wouldn't use it as a…
I would have liked to have seen the Fairmont Group represented in the survey. I'm a President's Club member and it would have been nice to see the comparison to the other chains.
@sodium11: With modern synthetic oils being used from the factory, some luxury cars are now saying 10,000 mile oil changes or longer. Of course, there's also the higher expensive of the oil, upwards of $100 per change as a shop, but much less at home.
@Cornflower: My dad used to put a brick in the tank when I was young. I've tried a waterbottle, but it's too bouyant and bobs around. Fill the empty bottle with sand or gravel and you're good to go.
@scaught78: My AC is set to 76 F (24 C) and it's quite lovely, sometimes too cold because the system isn't balanced in the house. As long as the humidity is removed, you still feel good at a higher temp, because it's still cooler than outside.
@Barcard: I've never ever watered my lawn, but if you want free water, get a water barrel attached to your eavestrough downspout. All you pay for is the cost of the barrel.
I work in government public safety and many of my colleagues have FB pages. It can be a good or a bad thing in my actual division, and I've been able to connect with other colleagues across the globe with FB and LinkedIn. But I've got personal friend in law enforcement and military who once had FB pages and were…
@pjp13: As long as nothing is outsourced, wouldn't switching over actually stimulate the signmaking businesses?
@stephen.morrish: In Canada, we have a similar hybrid system. Officially, we are metric so distances and volumes, in the automotive world at least, are in metres (or kilometers rather) and litres (note the correct spellings with "...res"). But most people use pounds for personal weight. Building can be done in either…
@coreyog: The automakers already DO print out metric speedometers, in non-US vehicles. A Canadian vehicle has large metric values and small imperial values, the opposite of US cars. So it's already implemented anyway outside the US and it would be almost no cost at all to go all the way.
@Mr.choppers - Delenda Carthago Est: Agreed! Mine too.
I've got that car in the photo, but a wagon. It's a 1982 Mercedes-Benz 300TD. It gets maybe 20 mpg on diesel, or biodiesel if you like. Parts are actually cheap and I've worked on it lots myself.
@JasterMereel: There should be no problem with an SSD because there is no magnetic media in it, it's solid state.
Print it. Put it in a binder. Put the binder on a shelf. Easy to access, hard to alter, and still readable in 100 years with only your eyeballs.
This is neat and I'll give it a shot. And it could be extended by listening to the audiobook version of the eBook at the same time! Or would that be overkill?
