1. The Simpsons, Mad Max: Fury Road, and the pun. I never leave this website, so I'm just going by what has had the most impact on the people here. I'm sure they're representative of humanity as a whole.

We see that he kidnapped Muscle Princess at the end of "Betty". But he hasn't kidnapped PB since "Isla De Senorita".
I like that Tree Trunks is actually really good at acting. She wasn't as good as Viola, but she wasn't bad either.
I'd say "Ten points to whoever gets the reference," but I think it's worth at least five times that.
I'm such a stereotypical geek that I actually sighed when I saw that header image.
The devil had it all thought out;
Condensed it into big black clouds.
A huff and a puff and his belly came through…
Oops, there's the devil now he's looking for you.
Seriously, we need to have a talk about getting "Phrasing" back in rotation.
So, "Get The Rope" was fucking awesome. Watching it, I realized that The Knick appeals to me in much same way Fargo does: it's edgy, intense, occasionally gory, post-Breaking Bad dramatic television, but it still has heart. There's something very broadly appealing about seeing Team Knick come together and each help in…
So, the last time an episode focused on LSP, she was hearing a deep voice in her head telling her "You don't belong here." And this time, she's directing a theatrical play to try and win back some respect because her self-esteem is so low.
As long as I'm waiting for Sava to do his job, here's my main thought about the new Adventure Time: in the last episode that focused on LSP, she experienced an auditory hallucination in the form of a low, growly voice telling her "You don't belong here." In her brief appearance in Stakes, she slept outside. And in…
I liked it when I first listened to it several months back on Spotify, but after receiving it on CD for Christmas, I have come to the conclusion that Separation Sunday is one of the best albums of the 2000's.
Memeability is the best part of nothing.
I'm only a casual Bowie fan, but the bruiser is right, Heroes is fantastic. Low too. Also, I just recently listened to Station To Station after reading Lester Bangs' review of it in the compilation I got for Christmas, and that record was excellent.
I watched that, and I admired the attention to detail, and I appreciated the effort that went into it, and I liked some of the bizarre visuals, and I didn't laugh even a little bit.
I don't think it's overimpressed with that aesthetic; it's just what Jim Jarmusch does, regardless of whether the story is about vampires, or ex-cons, or samurais, or cowboys, or Bill Murray, or whatever. Movies about fairly sophisticated people shooting the shit for a while and occasionally plot happens is Jarmusch's…
This gimmick account has actually made me kind of depressed over the course of its posts, because it's put into sharper focus just how much of the world's awfulness and stupidity are caused by a single substance. When I try to imagine the reasoning behind all the worst things politicians and the people who run the…
Well, I will say that Steven Universe is more dedicated to having a plot than Adventure Time, so, it may be more to your liking. Also, strictly speaking AT is post-apocalyptic, and some of the stuff involving that (Like "Simon and Marcy") is really heart-breaking, but it's true that much of the show doesn't revolve…
I never said it was about the mythology, I said the mythology was important. The Lich is important, the ice crown is important, Prismo is important, and the more earthly backstories of PB and Marceline are important. Off the top of my head, I can't really think of any story I would say is about it's mythology rather…
So, I've been really liking The Knick. I'm up through episode six, so in a bit I'll see what all the fuss over this "Get The Rope" thing is about. Thackery is way more likable than I thought he would be. In fact, almost all the main characters are; even the health inspector is kind of awesome in just how little of a…
How much Adventure Time have you watched? I'm not trying force a view on you, but I think claiming that the mythology is "Background noise" is somewhat inaccurate. Secondary to the characters? Absolutely. But it impacts the show to a far greater extent than the occasional nod or hint.
