It broke Steam records for most simultaneously played game, so it has that going for it. We know what sort of game it is and that it has been done before, but the popularity/success of it launched it into GOTY land.

I can’t. I’ve been arguing to anyone who’d listen that RE7 should’ve been in that spot but was forgotten since it was a January release.

I mean the game does deserve some sort of recognition, but being nominated for GOTY was a joke. I find it hilarious that the song they played while introducing the game as a nominee was just something random, it’s not even a song in the game itself lol.
