Yeah, I think there was some misuse of terms, specifically “same” versus “derived from”. Clearly not the same system....

Appreciate the clarification. I think the sticking point for me was “same as” versus “derived from” and I’d certainly agree with you on the latter.

...ehhhh....are you sure the Evo X’s AWD system is what’s in the Outlander?

Both, actually. The only (and I mean ONLY) source for the metric sized tires were Michelin and Avon. And even back in 1997 when I bought my first E28 and (out of ignorance) bought a new set of metric TRX tires, they set me back $200 a piece. Should’ve just bought a set of newer 16” Style 5’s, but I hadn’t yet

Unless you were planning on only showing this car, why in all-that-is-holy would you want a set of TRXs? By today’s standards, they’re both still available and highly unsafe in most driving conditions. Especially ones involving water in liquid or frozen form.

Actually, the prices on E38’s—even with low miles and 1-2 owners w/ excellent documentation are going for significantly less than this E23, and are still falling. So, if you’ve ever wanted one, now’s an excellent time to pull the trigger on an E38.

I’m yer’ huckleberry! ;) E38’s really are delicious, aren’t they?

I agree; it’s an awful nice specimen which has obviously been well-pampered its whole life. My only concerns are more model-specific than example-specific, like the servo-operated HVAC system and the 4HP-22 transmission’s “A” clutch pack burning out due to pressure build-up if revved in “P” or “N” (unless the updated

Had a navy blue with silver ‘87 SEV6. Bought it the summer of ‘90 with 41k miles for $7700 in mint condition—other than the stupid add-on Ziebart paint protection which was a greasy mess and didn’t allow you to really wax the paint.

Yeah, unless they’ve changed drastically in the last several months—if you look at their coverage maps, they’re deplorable in the NY/NJ/PA area, too. And if you don’t have at least a decent network presence in those major metropolitan arease, I’m not sure what good this service even is. Just my two cents of course.

I haven’t dealt with this in a long time (and nobody please quote me on this), but I’m pretty sure the timing of which you sell your ESPP stock also has some impact on how much you are taxed.

My solution? Have a couple of kids. This will solve all your “hobby needs” AND leave you with far less time to be curious about things. Problem solved! ;)

I’m confused; Is this the same new/concept Infiniti which was announced a few months ago whose underpinnings are sourced from Benz and based on a FWD drive train? I can’t keep up with all their concept cars....

Other than little “competitive running”, my history and experience matches yours.

Actually, the timing CHAIN is insanely reliable; it’s the things that the chain runs around (the guides) which fracture, break and otherwise make you wish you’d gone with that nice sensible Camry your mom and dad suggested ;) You will also get a horrible clatter when this happens which, if you kill the engine

I would be very curious to hear what, specifically, he doesn’t like about his CTS. I have to admit, I haven’t run across a lot (ok...ANY) guys my age who actually want an old-style, floaty-barge-of-a-car-Cadillac. Maybe he’s an “old soul” of sorts?

Was the BEST looking Celica. Ever. Nice find.

Nah. It is neither the right nor the responsibility of some jack wagon who’s hanging in the left/passing lane to choose at what speed everyone else on the road travels. Two over the limit is irrelevant; a skilled, conscientious motorist doesn’t care whether they are doing 2 over—or 30 over....if they are in the

Spot on, Doug. The scenario you have described accurately depicts my daily commute for the last 22 years in Central NJ, patiently (most of the time) waiting for the cars with Owl plates to get the eff out of the passing lane.

Simple, easy advice...but definitely good advice.
