“Half a Life” is an excellent episode, and while not in the “very top” of TNG episodes, it should be in the second tier of great shows. The long conversation between Lwaxana Troi and Timicin was a great scene, and overall the show didn’t give a “correct answer” to the problem. 

You know what I’d like to see? A younger Benjamin Sisko and his hijinks with Curzon.
