It would be nice if they are a system set out to automatically ignore outlyers past a certain point. I think they are using such a old operating system because the development for this had to have taken a long time. When they started WM could have very well been the dominate/promising looking system. I think this device was the very first phone to use the 1 GHz snapdragon CPU.

But it was also understood that Amazon themselves will not be making a profit on the device, rather they would actually loose a bit after its all said and done(there is more to the cost then just parts of course)

So Microsoft is doing pretty well since they get a cut of all those sales and Amazon does not since they are loosing money on each unit?
