Tig's reaction took me out of that scene so much that I actually LAUGHED. It was a horrific way to kill a person*, and yet I laughed. I was prepared to hear him (literally) scream bloody murder, but his lack of anguish was jarring. I usually like Coates' work in this role, but man…that was terrible.

Gay marriage is already legal in NY, which is where Josh Wilson lived with his hubs.

IIRC, Nancy took some classes before marrying Judah, but never fully converted. That's one of the reasons why Judah's family disliked Nancy and called her "not Francie", because Judah had been dating a "nice Jewish girl" named Francie before her, and he eventually ended up with Nance instead.

So, I am embarrassed to admit this, but it took a tumblr gif to make me realize Shane's mustache was not necessarily meant to age him - it was a parallel (among many in this ep) to the pilot, where Shane has the fruit punch mustache. Subtle, but kind of awesome.

Not one of your choices, but season 6. That would have been the perfect ending. It was a relatively good season, too. I liked that it focused on the core family traveling across the country, and the airport ending was just perfect.

Yes, Doug's son, Josh, was only in the pilot. He was a rival weed dealer who Nancy went after for selling pot to kids on the playground. Nancy discovered him partying at a much older male neighbor's house and I guess Doug eventually found out he was gay and disowned him. I enjoyed his reappearance, and though it was

Justin Kirk just tore my freaking heart out in this episode. That end scene was just absolutely incredible. Just brutal. I hope the future finds Andy's character happier…maybe finally working as a chef somewhere, keeping a safe distance from Nancy (if such a thing exists).

He drank that water like he wanted to climb into the glass and drown in it.

"Keepsake" by State Radio. I get chills just thinking about that scene.
