I feel this so deeply. My father and grandfather (rip) served in America’s wars, to no avail. My white, british grandfather got medals for his service (posthumous, even) but what did my father and granddaddy from Tennessee get? Travel? Experience? An ‘education’?

Fuck. This is sad in ways. It’s possible to actually educate and enlighten these folks but it’s so much god-damned WORK. It’s exhausting! I have kids of my own now and limited time.
