I own a company that formulates and produces products with caffeine. I found this article overall to be somewhat lacking. A few points of observation:
I didn’t see any mention of hypertension or high blood pressure or blood clots in this article. My brother regularly consumed energy drinks for at least five years. He developed hypertension and was hospitalized for it (systolic was around 220). He continued taking energy drinks despite doctor’s advice, and died…
More like “you don’t need them and you’re probably better off not drinking them, but if you really want one, at least take some precautions and go into it educated.”
Weird, I am currently eating a chorizo breakfast burrito...
I don’t drink energy drinks as much as I used to. I quit because they would make me jittery with prolonged exposure. So, maybe I will have one a week, if that. But, when I do drink it, I like to have a lot of carbs to help absorb some of that caffeine.
