Comparing Guiraudie to Refn in any way is a major insult to Guiraudie.
Trump gets elected, so you'll see more focus on loud and obnoxious.
Counterpoint: I found most of the acting to be as wooden as humanly possible. As well, Emily Deschanel is one of the ultimate recipients of nepotism in Hollywood. Not a fan…
You were the same person complaining about someone else claiming the object, trying to imply that they were claiming "objectivity"…your post here comes off pretty biased and hypocrtical.
List is missing Lav Diaz's "The Woman Who Left". That's a big omission from a list like this.
So someone who provides a measured critique of a film is "irritated"? That's pretty dumb…
John Krasinski is like every McSweeney reader and staff's wet dream. Whiter than snow, boring, and unshakably dedicated to self-absorbed indie "quirk".
Even if that's the case, my point stands. The accusations are not about Metzger himself, which is what I was responding to.
Because the initial accusations were not about him. If you read his comments, he names the man who was accused at the beginning.
This is now the 3rd time Tina Fey has exhibited a lack of nuance with racial casting when given the opportunity. Both Kimmy Schimidt plotlines discussed in this article. As well as Whisky Tango Foxtrot, which is a classic example of whitewashed casting.
Wiki says mother's Greek, and dad's English/German/Scottish. Try again.
And like I said, she's not my "preferred representative", that's because she's not the only person guilty of this charge. However, she is still very guilty of this charge and deserves the criticism.
I'm not failing to make my point (I made it in my last response to you, for instance), as several others here have understood it full well. You're failing to understand it. There's a difference.
I have in other replies further down.
No I'm not. Tina Fey is absolutely deserving of this criticism. She casts her friends, and by the casting choices of this movie, it looks like there's an aversion to people other than fair skinned westerners, too!
That's a very ignorant assumption to think that Tina Fey is my "preferred representative" for anything! This happens to be an article on a Tina Fey movie we're both commenting on, so natch I'm gonna mention her in my comments.
Because I must not share your opinion, I must be trolling! Your response is a feeble attempt at intelligence.
Tina Fey's entire career can be summed up in 3 words: "Yay white people!"
