It's never too late to find a group!

It's true. A great DM can turn a typical game into a magical experience, but I also believe that you shouldn't let that hold you back. DMs become good DMs through practice, and if it's something you or your friend are interested in, recognize that it takes a lot or work. Don't get discouraged! Watch and play with

An important point to note here: all of this is kind of contingent on whether you have a good Dungeon Master (and good players, but it's really important to have a good DM). A mediocre DM will create a midly fun, but not really challenging or interesting game that probably just feels like a board game, and a bad DM
