The rest areas are off the right shoulder of the highway, so they are only accessible by traffic on that side. There aren’t bridges that bring the traffic from the other side over.

In all fairness, the village of Chittenango has no say in anything what happens at the rest area in the Thruway. The rest area is called that because the village is the biggest community nearby. The rest area labeled for the city of Oneida is actually by the town of Westmoreland. 

They absolutely should not have been considered for a Thruway rest area option without being open 7 days a week.

I will not be surprised if future model years offer all-wheel drive. Seems like an odd choice for it to not have it now, but maybe there’s a supplier issue. 

A younger person without children choosing a modern small sedan/hatchback makes sense, especially if they seldom have anyone other than themselves and their SO in the car with them. They don’t need to think about rear seat access/adult passenger comfort or cargo room. 

I will not consider a vehicle that doesn’t have Android Auto integration. Period.

My first car was something most people have never heard of - a Mercury LN-7 (used) . It was the twin to the Ford EXP. It wasn’t anything special, but I could afford to buy and insure it.
