Can someone learn me some history? I do not recall these things being insanely popular when they came out back in the late '80s. I remember seeing lots of middle-age women driving them. Expecially when you had the 300zx TT sitting right next to it on the showroom floor.

I own one - did a cost/benefit analysis based on 200,000 mile useful life. Was +/- $1,000 compared to a Honda Fit. These things just don't break, and there's hardly any maintenance to do.
