I really want him to win because a) love me some Sufjan, and b) I have absolutely no idea what kind of quiet, weird speech he’d give. Maybe he’ll just say “thanks” and walk away.
I’m really hoping for a Vikes/Bills bowl.
Thank you. This song is just awful. The chorus is so stupid, and they sing it roughly 93 times.
Dude, in Minnesota we served Hot Dish.
I had just finished going through the A Song Of Ice And Fire series though, so the jousting was a disappointment...
Our company had a summer event at the Schaumburg one a few years back. Food was way better than I expected. I’m on the event committee and was in charge of the drink tickets that day. You can imagine how that went.
Frightened Rabbit, Recorded Songs: Three new songs from one of the best melancholy bands ever to drizzle out of Scotland, one of which is a duet with the best melancholy singer-songwriter of the year, Julien Baker.
I loved both PLMS and Future’s Void (maybe Future’s Void more), but Exile has yet to click with me.
Mount Eerie, A Crow Looked At Me is a wrenching and heartbreaking album that I could listen to no more than twice. Not that it’s bad, just I don’t have the emotional stamina to make it through it again.
Heading there on Sunday. I’ll have to keep an eye out.
Worked at a sammich shop where we sliced the meats. You’d see it on the roast beef practically right after you sliced it.
Damn. Johnny doesn’t fuck around.
I love “Christmas Card from a Hooker in Minneapolis”. Such... I don’t know, sorrowful optimism?
“Hey Charlie I think I’m happy for the first time since my accident
And I wish I had all the money we used to spend on dope
I’d buy me a used car lot and I wouldn’t sell any of em
I’d just drive a different car every day…
So, within 24 hours Trump managed to unify a conservative prime minister, a liberal London mayor, and the head of the Church of England. And the week’s not over yet.
I only started watching Silicon Valley a few months ago and when I found out he was the main character, I was like, “Oh no, this fuckin’ guy!?”
That said, love the show.
“Arnika” is one of the most depressing songs I’ve ever heard. Other than the lyrics, you can literally hear the body twisting around on a rope.
This is a good question. While you can definitely see it in “[...]Palisades[...]”, I’ve always felt the object of this song was female. Perhaps it’s the line where he uses “blouse”. However, I was looking at the lyrics again today, and if you take that word out (or interpret it different), I can see it.
Ooo, yeah, that’s a good one. There’s so much emotion wrapped up in that little line and the way he sings it.
Also, “I am crying in the bathroom”
