Well, between this,, Thompson getting paid... Irving, and of course Lebron.. it would seem that this is basically it, even when the cap jumps up in a couple years they will be tied down.
Agreed, and I would add that the angels made the right call. As an owner, if I have a choice between a guy I KNOW is a good manager... vs. a guy who I THINK might be a good GM.. I take what I know.

It’s amazing how such a piece of shit in Michael Brown enacted so much positive change
Honest question... has a single commenter on here ever had the decency to apologize to Darren Wilson (not that he’ll read it, but it’s the thought that counts) for jumping to conclusions based off lies and calling him a evil racist murderer who shot a fleeing man with his hands up?
Yes, that’s why he’s a living legend and you and mean spend part of our days talking tough anonymously on the web
Actually this is EXACTLY what they do for the Women’s NCAA tournament for, gasp, the exact same reasons..
Can we revisit that Ty Cobb - Kobe Bryant discussion? I really think that biographer was on to something.
Still don’t see how you think screaming at cops is going to help them do their job better. It’s counterproductive. And no amount of ranting about the horrors of police work is going to change that.
Here’s the other think you are forgetting, we are getting a pointedly anti-cop slant on everything from the media... which sometimes I’m ok with and sometimes not..
So because I think screaming at cops while they are doing their job is counterproductive that means I’m in love with them? Stop jumping to extremes... I know there is a problem with the militarization of police and the ongoing drug war fallout.. but I don’t blame the drug war on the cops and neither should you, I…
that’s true... this is a “quiet” tv period.. but you do have Hannibal, Halt and Catch Fire, and Penny Dreadful on right now.. and I’ll put Orphan Black and OITNB on there since they ended recently and I’m currently binge watching.. it’s close between TD, Hannibal, and OITNB, but I’d take TD
I love the Fall, great show... not better than True Detective, not even close frankly. There’s simply no equivalent to the “car-ride” scenes we get in TD that are so great where time just seems to stand still.
No, you were being fair. People are in such a rush to bash this show they can’t even bother to get the details right.
For all its “flaws” (which are probably more perceived than real) this is still the best thing on television right now. Now it’s not approaching season 1, but given that season 1 was some of the best television anybody has ever seen (until the letdown finale anyways) that’s not a surprise.
Riiiight everybody hates the police until there’s a guy trying to kill you with a hammer, then you LOVE the police.
I never said that cops “shouldn’t” be able to deal with people yelling at them.. I said that, in a split second life or death situation, it’s not going to help. And I gave an example that nobody has refuted.
Because of the example I just gave... two cops, a male and female, are walking down the street.. and all of a sudden some lunatic starts swinging a hammer so fiercely at random women (including the female cop) that he could’ve killed one (or more) of them... the male cop then swiftly takes the person down, but not…
Ehhhh, I can see both sides... cops shouldn’t be above the law, for sure... but they have an extremely difficult, life and death job.. and I don’t like the idea of cops having to make split second decisions (like when they correctly killed hammer guy) with people screaming at them.. that simply cannot help.
