Snore-inducing AGNES OF GOD gets a spot on this list, but no mention of Ken Russell's (love it or hate it) unforgettable THE DEVILS? What is this, Entertainment Weekly?

It's called "acting" for a reason.

Don't know if this has been mentioned already, but OVERBOARD is already a loose remake of Lina Wertmuller's SWEPT AWAY (1974), which was also famously remade by Guy Ritchie.

Don't know if someone pointed this out already, but George Lucas did NOT write this movie. Lawrence Kasdan did. Lucas and director Philip Kauffman (The Right Stuff) contributed to the story.

Definitely agree (though it's at least initially as much a comedy as Silver Linings Playbook) - after the first time I watched it, I would've said it wasn't a comedy at all, but, on repeated viewing, the comedy gets weirdly amplified, in the same way that Joseph Stefano's arch double entendre-laden dialogue for PSYCHO

I'd happily include THE GUEST on any list of this century's funniest films so far. Simon Barrett and Adam Wingard's sly send up of Carpenter-esque tropes and 80's era stalker-slashers only gets more hilarious with repeated viewings, lifting it above more straight-faced Carpenter clones like COLD IN JULY to place it

OH, yeah, his character is definitely gay, they just never go beyond the ribbing that Colin Ferrell gives him for it, and I believe Ralph Fiennes' character brings it up as well.

Brendan Gleeson's woeful hitman in IN BRUGES?

Unfortunately, we live in a world of constant reboots, reimaginings and belated sequels, where even justly cancelled television shows can unexpectedly rear their ugly head for another last gasp at the rarified air of nostalgia-addicted fans' collective breathy twitter postings. Television and studio executives have

Agreed - Kubrick's film is not to be summarily dismissed, nor do I consider it his "worst" - Full Metal Jacket's soggy second half pulls that film off-kilter in the same way that Lolita's third-act ramblings do. There's hidden wit in the clever ways they find around the Hayes code, with double (and single) entendres

Now let's get that weekly sitcom version of YENTL off the ground.

FYI: Oscar-winner Ted Tally did the final (uncredited) rewrite of the film. I had the displeasure of reading it and thinking "They'll surely fix all this before they shoot it." They didn't.

Stopped reading when the author referred to the waking nightmare of the Spy Kids movies as "charming."

The reason this movie isn't remembered fondly is that it is TERRIBLE - it looks like a day in the plastic factory, moves like molasses in a snowstorm, and features the flattest, most uninteresting characters in Christmas movie history. It was also produced by the notorious Salkinds, so of course it was positioned as

Not only that, but it looks SPECTACULAR on blu-ray (as long as you watch the Italian-language version and not the US cut).

Even in ASSAULT ON PRECINCT 13 she's awesome. But you're right, all of her interplay with Janet Leigh in THE FOG is comic genius.

Sorry, Nancy Loomis (Annie) is brilliant and hilarious. She's one of the best things in the moody if muddled THE FOG.

FYI: The Apple was made in 1980, not 1970.

Agreed - I was really looking forward to this movie, but I came away feeling like I'd just watched a bunch of fifth graders play videogames for an afternoon.

Exactly - Vermithrax Pejorative is even NAME-CHECKED in Game of Thrones.
