Depends on the game tbh. But usually the most memorable Mario games are the ones that take the open-ended format and make something interesting story out of it(paper mario, mario galaxy, the superstar saga, etc).

So they were hoping that the same application could be done for a feature film.

I think it just ends up being what people want to see in a movie at the end of the day. Everytime I see an illumination movie, I don’t hate it. But I do feel like I’ve wasted my time, haha.

Whereas some people(even movie critiques) just genuinely enjoy being entertained for a few hours, even if it’s the most basic-ass

Haha, I think there’s some truth to that actually. Like things often deemed as “kids movies” can still have a lot of nuance and interesting narrative and writing choices, while still being entertaining and engaging for kids.

The Spiderverse movies and even the latest Puss and Boots movie, are two great examples.

If you post something that gets more views/engagement then your regular content, shifting to the new format is a good way to keep the income up with youtubes algorithim the way it is.

So that’s probably part of the reason for sure.

Yeah to me, it felt like their sole reason for investing in Multiversus was to attempt to get a piece of the battlepass(live service) cake, the smash bros cake, and the crossover cake.

And because it was more about biting into a profitable market, instead of making a quality product, they didn’t release a unique enough

Every generation goes through a “teen heart throb singer” phase and that’s the role he filled in the 2010s.

He was sort of similar to Justin Beiber in the sense that he got a lot of his start through online fanbases/discovery, but instead of that launching him into a career of traditional stardom, he pretty much fell

Ngl, as annoying as the internet can be, I find a little bit of comfort with it. There’s always tons of talks about things that make games objectively “good”, but even when we take out things that seemingly aren’t important(or don’t fit the gameplay), there will always be people that loved them.

Games are art, and we

I feel like trivializing this down to “but don’t you like money?” is the perfect way to prove you don’t understand the concern being expressed here, lol. Kinda just sounds like you made up a person in you’re head and are just replying to said imaginary person.

That being said, I think you’re perspective is fatalist at

I’ve been following the development of this game for a long time, and I think part of the thing was that it was started as a joke. The type of thing that sounds silly and gets a lot of attention on the premise alone.

But what started as a funny joke, for internet clicks, looks the dev actually started to like the

I agree that her face looks a lil weird. But I’m with it.

Majority of the Street Fighter series doensn’t adhere to any sort of standard as far as anatomy goes(outside of the surface level character designs). So a lot of the characters get thinner/thicker facial features just depending on the games artstyle.

Sort of? The only fighting game that’s had visibly lethal “body-horror” esque moves is Mortal Kombat. And even in MK it’s very strange to watch a skull shatter into pieces, and then have a character stand back up.

Otherwise most fighters generally just go for the TV-action route, where the impacts are heavy, but the

I feel like “I’m hot, come date me” and “I’m hot, leave your current reltionship for me” are two VERY different statements about desirablility and self-image.

I don’t think tiktok is any sort of measured take on anyones self worth, and it’s mostly just fun. But also, homewrecking fantasies are kinda cringe.

I mean, this is a concept that has existed in myth/storytelling for centuries. None of these games are “original” in that sense, lol. So it’s fine.

Sure, but if he signed a contract that said “we can do whatever we want with your toys”, he’s basically already given away the right to take his toys in the first place.

I’m all about art and quality, when it comes to games. But at the end of the day: buisness is buisness, if you choose to engage with it.

I know consumers associate value to games based on how “modern” they are. But I just want my games to be engaging on their own merits. So a Pokemon using it’s old interface would be perfect in my book, as long as it ran well.

They didn’t “mess with Genji.” they did the opposite and ignored him.

By attaching system mechanic that buffs damage heroes simply by getting eliminations, it makes some of the lower output heroes much more viable. But because this buff is applied equally to any damage hero, it means the heroes who were already

The re-introduction to player stats in game, really confused me for sure.

It feels like they brought in someone who was like “I want to make Overwatch better, but I also HATE the previous teams work and I want to do it MY way” or something

I definitly get a lot of moments in Splatoon 3 where I’m just like “that killed me???” which I don’t remember ever feeling in Splatoon 2.

The boss stacking seems to be way imbalanced on my end to. But I don’t know what balancing is like for a title like that, so I’ve mostly just accepted the difficulty, haha.

I like Gundam Evolution..... but I don’t think there’s anything truly noteworthy about it, lol. I’m a Gundam Fan, so I’ll take all the big robots I can get. But the game itself is prettyyy tame in it’s creative goals, and isn’t doing anything I would personally say is “unique” or “exciting.

I mean, I thought it was pretty clear they were doing this because F2P Battlepass monetization blew up and has proven to be profitable, so they wanted in on that profit, lol.
