So far this album seems to be pretty reliant on samples made famous by earlier black women, thus far without crediting them.

Yeah, however I am still torn here. Kelis’ voice is not in Beyonce’s track as far as I can hear, she has zero songwriting credits on the original track so is not necessarily owed any more than anyone else involved in making it, and there would have been many others. Also, I generally think Kelis seems pretty cool.

I thought Regé-Jean Page is a total miscast. He just does not have the intimidation factor to pull off the character and the overall performance verges on being too campy - which completely takes me out of the immersion.
