He was doing 150 in a Mustang on a perfectly straight road, and managed to escape instead of suddenly veering to the right and mowing down a crowd of people. He’s got to at least be in the top 10-15% of Mustang drivers in terms of skill.

And this trooper knows what level of driving skills this Mustang driver has HOW??? It’s quite possible that this driver can drive circles around these troopers.

It’s unlikely that the crash/landing killed them. Between 36 degree water, and harnesses they aren’t familiar with, this is a nightmare scenario. The only person familiar with the harnesses made it out.

I imagine they’re going to be sued into oblivion, change their name, and be back up and running in a 18 months.

Its the little shit on these cars that gets you, the engine and transmission are pretty solid. Its the seat motor here, the trunk latch there and it adds up. Even just the parts can be expensive.

He was a demonstrably violent criminal. He had just committed a carjacking, nearly ran over another person, not to mention the original assault with a deadly weapon against a police officer.
