I owned a car just like this for a couple of years. First, they’re available all over the world (especially Europe and the Middle East) for less than 5k .

I think the situation is less about hate and “biggest problem” and more about people having too much time on their hands, or just not using their time productively.

I wish my life was so awesome that the biggest problem I had was whether or not other people were removing yellow plastic protective bits from their cars.

Love the orange F&F replica Mk IV. Tugs on all the right nostalgia strings. Who’s down to cruise by the beach, get tacos, and listen to Vin Diesel say “family” thirty-seven times in the same monologue?

It’s a running 4x4 in the Midwest. It could have rust holes in it, and it would still sell for close to that price. The seller could probably get even more for it in the Fall when people start looking for winter vehicles.

Since efficiency is just a relationship between an output and an input, if we call our output miles traveled and input fuel in gallons, then it’s okay to use the term “fuel efficient,” here, without considering how much power the engine is capable of making.

Bingo. Cheaper to buy credits than actually produce cars and trucks that hit the targets set quite a while ago.

If you’re driving a shitbox, the repair bill will be prohibitive when weighed against the value of the car. However, if you’re driving a late model it’s probably not a bad deal at all.

One could say that it is idiotic to buy such a long car with truck engine that only seats two.

Renault would have an impossible uphill battle in the US. As much as people like to make fun of our USDM vehicles, we have two things that are HUGE barriers to entry:

1990’s Nissan: Let’s make a car in every category that is fun, sporty, reliable, and/or give them cutting edge tech and performance of an exotic.

I dunno. This sounds more like a Shelbyville project.

This Safari car thing needs to be selectively applied.

This is not necessarily true. I bought a set of $30 H Freight impact sockets when I got hired as a flat rate tech since I spent the rest of my money on a Snap On cordless impact. I figured I'd use them til my first paycheck then upgrade to Snap Ons. Those damn sockets outlasted my career as a flat rate tech. Took

pfft... I bought MACHETE !!! A Ma-Freakin'-Chette !!!!!

Their torque wrenches are perfectly cromulent for using on lug nuts. Mine is...multiple years...old now and still comes close enough that I don't worry about my wheels falling off.
