Having owned a ‘97 TSi ZJ, I can certainly sympathize. The trim package on the TSi was SO much nicer than the Limited, only falling short to the 6.9 LTD. When I finally sold the Grand Cherokee in ‘08, there were already a TON of nitpicking things going wrong at 11, mostly gently driven, years. The appearance was damn

Totally agree with this. Plus, I have a short fuse these days—dropping the tires was probably the smart move, but I’d have pushed back first.

Great article! Yep, the scumbags are real, it’s not a myth—they make the process so painful, it’s spurred the “no haggle” “one price” scams that invariably favor the dealership. The only way BS like this ends if is people do their homework and take care with understanding what they’re buying. As long as we act like

And, they’re still part of Chrysler, no? GM is the Walking Dead outside of fleet trucks.

Ahhh Grasshopper—Chrysler will probably outlast GM. Have you counted cars on the road? Dodge, Ram, Jeep, Fiat WAY outnumber GM offerings.

Chrysler Imperial

Actually, Caddy ripped off Chrysler back in the day...

Take a look at the ‘80s Chrysler Imperial. It’s obviously a nod to that design.

AMEN

My gauges light up when the vehicle is running. On both cars. If I got to the car wash or dealership where they tend to turn the auto headlights to “off” I’ve not realized my headlights weren’t on when driving where there are bright street lights.

It’s a function of overall “it’s all about me” issues and the fact most people have the driving skills of kids in a battling teacups ride. They slow down to text, stop in a traffic lane until someone in another lane stops to let them over, and show total disregard for traffic flows and others.

944 makes a great track car, with as you said, a blue collar budget. That said, I wouldn’t take anything about this car at face value. There is a chance the odometer isn’t even from this car as it seems to be piecemeal. Best case, it sounds like a great first track car and weekend tinker project.
