Yeah okay, Western Europeans don’t pay as much directly for health care. They pay much higher taxes though. It’s really easy to conflate the costs, but the money is coming out of your pockets regardless of the system you’re paying into
I think that figure is as a percentage of GDP. The US spends around 32% of GDP on healthcare, whereas Australia spends around 10% and has universal access, regardless of private insurance levels.
