You may want to get your eyes checked then
I use any excuse to show off my 1992. When will these be a future classic? ;-) It’s funny to think that you could buy about 25 of these for the price of a brand new one...
So sad. I first discovered Jalopnik right about the time he was wrapping up his tenure. I went back as far as I could to catch all of his work and loved every bit of it. It was a tough time in my life. His articles, and the sense of community of the commentariat here, got me through it. The passion and enthusiasm…
If you knew about him, you know what this means.
Not sure in a race that lasts 864,000 of them.
Sure you can:
I blame Ford vs Ferrari for this.
According to FIA records, their minimum pit stop refueling was supposed to be set at 45 seconds, but the team consistently fueled in 44.4 seconds. The team was also deemed to be carrying 0.1 liters more than their mandated 96 liters

Hey man, I’m just going where my heart will take me.
Don’t you dare make fun of the Enterprise theme song. It’s perfect (or at least it was in season 1, the later seasons had some weird mellowed out version).
Counterpoint: The Orville is not a comedy and not a parody. It’s a Star Trek series in the TNG vein, except instead of being set on the flagship with the best of the best of Starfleet, it’s a mid-level ship with 3rd or 4th-tier “regular people”. It’s TNG with underachievers, and some humor.
Is it possible you were looking for a place to shit and just picked this show? I’ve never been blown away by the first episode of anything and think it’s a little soon to dump on this. Pinch it off and wait a few episodes. Thanks.
I liked last night’s pilot episode. It felt like a fanfic mash-up of ST:TNG and ST:DS9. Even down to the score and sound effects. I didn’t realize how much I wanted something like that until last night.
Here’s the thing: I don’t think MacFarlane intended it to be a parody. I think he meant for it to be a loving homage to Star Trek: The Next Generation, albeit with dick jokes. Compared to something like Galaxy Quest or Other Space, it’s pretty much a straight pastiche of TNG with a lot of Family Guy-style humor…
You can get a aftermarket fuel gauge for as little as a few cents:
Agreed in full. It’s telling that whenever the suits are concerned about the state of the franchise, they always have exactly one move: go back to Wrath of Khan. Because you know that the fans absolutely love Wrath of Khan.
Oh, I don’t know. Discovery feels very much like Star Trek to me, because it already possesses an element key to all Trek:
