And you know this how? Do you work for Nielson?

That seems to be the general consensus from people here. Over the last couple of seasons through now, yet here they all are commenting on TWD on an article about a show they really don’t like/claim to not watch.
I love all of these self-important types, not saying you Rob, but fans who act as if the show shall not go on because of their waning interest. I thought JDM was fantastic, and Andrew’s performance was one of the best of his for the whole show, even if he only had maybe 10 lines. Did the episode live up to the hype?…
Agreed! Ending with the death of Abraham would have been shocking and satisfying, and following it up with Glen on this episode would have been great.
That’s the whole point. He could’ve killed him. Not killing him was the smart choice.
It’s remarkably how many people rush into TWD threads to loudly state that they’re too cool to watch the show, nobody watches the show, many people tell them the show is terrible, and the ratings are rigged.
Really should’ve watched the rest of the show before jumping on that high horse, huh?
It was pretty much panel for panel. His eye popped out while he was talking with a crushed head. The whole image. I was a bit shocked honestly. Even showed his eye sitting in the pile of gore that was his head. But they can’t say fuck or show nudity. Go figure.
If you don’t like it, fine. Don’t watch. But don’t pretend people are abandoning it wholesale and it is in trouble. It is still doing huge numbers for non-network, basic cable. Even with a small dip last season.
I feel like the promotion of this season—the tease at the end of last season’s episode (after folks publicly promised it would end with the kill), then the months of promos featuring Negan with the bat—was ghoulish. Glad they didn’t kill off Maggie for a multitude of reasons, but the way they’re selling the dark…
Breaking it up over two episodes would have been SO much better. And waiting, what, 20 minutes into this episode to show the first kill — just so they can replay stuff they already showed us in the “last time on...” clip plus some “boo hop, I’m sad” memory flashes of Rick’s? That is some bullshit.
Except they killed Glenn.
Not to mention the fact that it took them about 15 minutes to get to the first kill, and another 10 to get to the second.
are we trying to achieve a space where boys and girls can play alongside one another equally
This isn’t “the same problem.” The problem is that there was a criminally low number of female directed episodes of TV and female directors in general. This is increasing that number, but it’s not going to suddenly replace every single male director of other shows with female directors.
lol thanks for the laugh. Seriously, the most ludicrous thing I’ve read from someone who actually thinks what they’re saying isn’t bigoted and proves exactly why measures like this are necessary...
That’s not what this is about at all. For one thing, there are a number of male characters on the show and they will be directed by female directors. Meaning your logic is incorrect.
With creative positions I just worry about proving my worth. Whether I was given the opportunity due to a checkbox or my perceived talents; I am going to STAY because I have PROVEN my talents.
Some of these characters have been around for half a century. Personally, I think it’s great to see Marvel shaking up the status quo and passing the torch; otherwise, they’ll just keep rewriting and rebooting the same few stories over and over.
Well, for a long, long time, straight, white, male characters were the default just... because.
