I’m still mixed honestly. I use Netflix mainly for TV now, and a lot of the original Netflix movies don’t look the best. But they are definitely getting better it seems. And this is certainly in the right direction. But still, I love watching the really good films at the theatre, and Scorsese is one of those directors…
I didn’t even know The Irishman was a thing! What a loaded cast! And it’s coming to Netflix? Wow. The budget is up there too, so Scorsese is definitely not pulling any punches.
Yeah I’m not a fan. I wanted to participate in a show’s discussion here, but I was currently watching a show. AV Club didn’t give me much time to finish it because they just rapid fire the reviews. I mean I guess it makes sense to get out all their reviews so that anyone searching for the show finds AV Club. And I…
Yeah that makes sense. It definitely comes down to whether you get it or not as well, and I definitely didn’t get it. Besides that, it’s just weird game. Mechanically, there’s very little to the game. So it makes sense that it just boils down to how it makes you feel narratively.
Luckily the PSVR bundles are dirt cheap, so more and more people might just pick it up. And yeah, it’s definitely one of the most refreshing experiences I’ve played all year. You’re right that it would be held in insane esteem if more people played it. I actually stopped playing RDR2, sequel to one of my favorite…
I’ve already SS’d a few hard songs, so I do think it’s possible, but it’s going to be harder than I initially thought. And I thought the same thing when I seen the modifiers! As for the rapid fire parts, it takes a while to figure that crap out. I think I’ve finally figured it out luckily, but it’s still hard at times.
Yeah. That shit was lame as hell. Show not tell. It seriously was such a coincidence. And while coincidences are important for thrillers, these ones felt so damn arbitrary and lame.
The first half is so good that it makes up for the second half which definitely was nowhere near as good as the first half. Still, for me it was one of the most electrifying movies I’ve seen this year, and I really don’t give a shit about music movies.
I have been accruing mass lately with having given up working out at the gym and no more MMA classes, so I’ve been using that as a great excuse to play more Beat Saber. I’m a very sweaty person and just throwing the PSVR headset on makes me sweaty, so adding in laborious swinging gets me drenched by the time I’m done…
I really liked the art style of Night in the Woods, so I tried out the two free demos to prep myself. I’m really glad they made the demos because it showed the game would definitely not be for me. It saved me money luckily. What about the demo do you love so much because it didn’t do much for me.
Holy crap that’s amazing! He seriously wants to play COD on the thing? And he’s never played it before?
Yeah, I could’ve sworn this was one of the featured indie games like 5 years ago or so at E3. I thought it already came out years ago.
Beat Saber is great! I already beat the campaign, so I’m now trying to clear the trophies by first Full Comboing all the songs on hard. Not too hard honestly, but I’m definitely worried about getting SS on Expert and even just getting a full combo on one of those bad boys.
Annihilation is all over the comments. I loved Ex Machina so much, and I was excited for the Garland’s next project. But for me, Arrival, my favorite movie ever, just took too much wind out of Annihilation’s sail. It just looked similar enough for me to not be interested. Seeing all the acclaim in the comments though…
I think it’s odd to bring up biggest music biopic when A Star is Born came out this year as well, and it’s actually critically acclaimed, so it would make sense for movie critics to put it on this list.
I love thrillers, and that’s why I was so excited to see Searching. But damn was that a big ol’ disappointment. The sappy mom passing away element and the dad drifting a part from the daughter was cringey. And the twist didn’t feel earned at all. It made sense, but it was so damn lame. And his daughter staying alive…
Yeah yeah, we get it. Fuck mainstream films. Give me those abstract artsy films. Infinity War might’ve been a decade in the making and pulled it off with incredible detail and proficiency, but hell, we like obscure films. I already understood the hate boner for Infinity War here actually and wasn’t surprised, but…
Seen it yesterday. The best animation I’ve ever seen in a film. And it had an amazing story and was hilarious throughout. Can not recommend enough.
